- BULLETIN BOARD SYSTEM (BBS) SYSOP INFORMATION
- ─────────────────────────────────────────────
- This file, SYSOP.DOC, contains important information regarding
- the posting of Power to Bulletin Board Systems (BBSs), and
- requirements for BBS SysOps. For additional information on
- Power, see the README.1ST file contained in the archive.
-
- The file PACKING.LST contains a text dump of the PKUNZIP's view
- command of all the files in PWR100.ZIP (BBS distribution file).
- If you find that one file doesn't match the CRC value or any
- other parameter about that file described in PACKING.LST, please
- let me know.

- BBS SYSOP DISTRIBUTION REQUIREMENTS
- ───────────────────────────────────
- I explicitly permit the Shareware version of Power (file
- PWR100.ZIP) to be uploaded to and downloaded from BBS systems,
- including those who permit downloads for a fee, such as
- CompuServe, under the terms in the LIMITED DISTRIBUTION LICENSE
- (file LICENSE.DOC). The archive must contain those files in
- PACKING.LST. Repackaging of the archive is not permitted. This
- permission is NOT granted for the registered version, nor for the
- source code.
-
- If you have any question as to whether the version which has been
- uploaded to your BBS is Shareware, simply uncompress the
- PWR100.ZIP archive file using PKUNZIP, and then execute the
- PWR.EXE and look at the bottom status bar. If it does not say
- "■ Unregistered Version ■" you have received a registered
- (licensed) copy which is not legal for posting; in this case
- contact me and report it. Otherwise you have received a
- Shareware copy which is legal for posting, as long as the list of
- file sizes, names, date/times, and the respective CRC values
- match those in the PACKING.LST file.
-
- For simplicity, the files' time-stamps and date-stamps are all
- the same. If ANY parameter of any one of the files do not match
- the parameters in the PACKING.LST, suspect file tampering. The
- only discrepancy to expect from the PACKING.LST is the
- PACKING.LST's own entry in PKUNZIP's CRC listing: PACKING.LST's
- CRC-32 and file-size values will not match because the CRC
- listing was inserted into PACKING.LST after the fact. So its
- CRC-32 and file-size values are of no concern. Everything else,
- including the time-stamp and date-stamp, and all parameters of
- all other files, MUST ALL AGREE.
-
- This file includes sample descriptions and directory entries
- which you may use to describe the package.

- SHORT DESCRIPTION
- ─────────────────
- Power is a business utility designed for (but not limited to) a
- group of Electronics Engineers whose tasks involve IC circuit
- board designs. The two-fold primary directive is: calculate from
- one or two input files the required current for a set of chips in
- a circuit design, and provide a means of information sharing be-
- tween engineers so that there is no redundant data entry while
- allowing engineers to have their own personal DataBase to work
- from.
-
- Power has a fully windowized, text-graphics, user-friendly inter-
- face. All major errors are trapped. The Data Entry interface
- has features that reduce repetitious typing of similar part num-
- bers of the same manufacturer. The Viewer/Editor function allows
- point-and-shoot editing while also viewing the data in one win-
- dow. The DataBase Editor has a user-configurable password
- protection as a deterrent against unauthorized editorial changes
- in the DataBase. The Configuration Menu allows users to con-
- figure for exploding-window sound, error bell sound, background
- color toggle, and DataBase Editor password toggle.
-
- The only limit to the size of the DataBase is the available
- memory and disk space.
-
- Power is written by Michael D. O'Connor, a member of the Associa-
- tion of Shareware Professionals.
